Joseph's Birthday
WHOA! This could be a really long story... prepare yourself! Looong story short, I wanted to wait until 8/8/08 and try and get induced. My midwife stripped my membrane when I was 37 1/2 weeks pregnant to try and get things moving. I had contractions that drove me crazy. She was going out of town on the 6th, so i decided to let her induce me on the 2nd and stop the madness of being pregnant! I could not wait another day! Soo, we painted my belly before it was all gone and headed to the hospital. (Jillian wanted to do something to my belly all along... so this is what we came up with) So you want to know about the tub? Well, It always seems like it is so nice when you watch baby story... and i really hated getting the epidural the 1st 3 times. I made it pretty far with rowan before I got one and I thought if the water helps, I could make it all the way. the epidural scares me. I didn't like laying in the bed. My midwife was all for it! So we tried. It was great! It really made the contractions tolerable. BUT, I knew going in...I could not have the baby IN the water. I would have to come out. And that STUNK!! IT was so hard to get out of the water and get on the evil bed and push w/o the nice water. But I did it. and it HURT REALLY BAD! It freaked me out! I was so scared! But I did it. And we had a BEAUTIFUL HEALTHY baby boy! I was so happy! It was so amazing! We named him after my dad who is Martin Joseph. (so is my grandpa and brother and nephew) Also he has the same initials as his daddy and big brother. JMA. We call him Jospeh, Joey, Joe Joe, stinky bootie and all that good stuff!! Compared to his siblings... he was a little fussier early on. We were really stressed out though... so he probably felt my stress and acted accordingly... But it was not that bad.
